Flourish Skin and Beauty’s Courtney Adams has taken home the gold medal in the inaugural Skinlympics, a brand-new industry event recognising and rewarding Australia’s best Skin Therapists. Winning in the highly competitive Brighten Category, Courtney reflects, "I am truly over the moon! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would become a finalist, let alone take home a prize, and here we are, holding a GOLD! 48 hours later, and I am still on cloud nine!"
A Journey To Radiant Skin
Courtney's award-winning journey began with Emma, her client who came to Flourish Skin and Beauty feeling disheartened by the pigmentation on her cheeks.
"Emma was really down when she first walked in, unsure if achieving clear skin was even possible," recalls Courtney. "Our thorough consultation with Emma gave us valuable insights into her skin and current routine, allowing us to craft a personalised treatment plan."
Emma's treatment plan was both comprehensive and compassionate. She started with weekly in-clinic visits for LED therapy to strengthen and restore balance in her skin. This was followed by fortnightly enzyme peels to gradually lighten her skin. The cornerstone of her treatment was Flourish’s Brightening Facial, performed twice, four weeks apart, before embarking on a course of IPL treatments.
"We performed test patching before starting IPL to ensure suitability," explains Courtney. "We did three IPL treatments, six weeks apart, to achieve our final goal. Emma was overjoyed with the results."
Emma's dedication to her homecare routine was crucial to her success. She faithfully followed the regimen prescribed by Courtney, which included antioxidant-rich cosmeceuticals from DermaEnergy and, of course, sun protection.

Living The Dream Back Home
Courtney's passion for skin led her to create Flourish Skin and Beauty upon returning to her hometown of Bundaberg. "I wanted to be in a space dedicated to skin, and the only way to make that happen was to create it myself. Nearly two years later, I’m operating the clinic of my dreams, providing services I truly love!" she reflects.
